Description
Fortinet FortiGate 80F-Bypass (FG-80F-Bypass)
This is the 80F branch NGFW + SD-WAN platform, but with one key difference: it supports a hardware LAN bypass pair so traffic can keep flowing if the appliance loses power / fails (common requirement for must-stay-up branches).
What Bypass means (in plain English)
-
The FG-80F-Bypass can be configured with 1x bypass GE RJ45 port pair.
-
In the datasheet, that bypass pair is WAN1 & Port1 (default configuration).
-
Purpose: maintain link continuity during failure scenarios (helps minimize downtime during hardware/power events).
Performance (Enterprise Traffic Mix)
Same as the 80F family:
-
IPS: up to 1.4 Gbps
-
NGFW: up to 1.0 Gbps
-
Threat Protection: up to 900 Mbps
